IVF Gynaecologist

Dr. Devini Ameratunga is a compassionate and dedicated Gynaecologist and Fertility Specialist at Life Fertility Clinic. She is currently in the final six months of her Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI)—the highest level of subspecialty training in fertility. Upon completion, she will be one of only five Board-certified Fertility Specialists in Queensland and the first female to have been accepted to both CREI and Surgical (Laparoscopic) Fellowships in the state.
Dr. Ameratunga has a wealth of contemporary knowledge and extensive experience across all areas of general and complex fertility care, including pregnancy loss, assisted reproduction, ovulation induction, and fertility preservation. Her gynaecological expertise extends to conditions such as PCOS, minimally invasive surgery/laparoscopy, and pelvic pathology, including fibroids and endometriosis. She treats hormonal conditions across the reproductive spectrum, from adolescence to post-menopause.
Graduating with first-class Honours from the Australian National University in 2007, Dr. Ameratunga began her Specialty training at the Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne. In 2014, she completed a Fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopy and Minimally Invasive Surgery at the Gold Coast University Hospital, and soon after, entered private practice. Dr. Ameratunga is also a public Staff Specialist at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, where she trains junior doctors and conducts research in fertility and gynaecology. She serves as the Clinical Lead for Fertility Preservation in the public system.
