About Dr Helen Fung:

Dr. Helen Fung was born and raised in Townsville, Queensland. She pursued her passion for dentistry at the University of Sydney, earning her Bachelor of Dental Surgery. After graduation, Dr. Fung spent four years as a general dentist in multiple clinics across the Hunter Region, where her experience treating adults with advanced dental issues inspired a shift in focus to pediatric dentistry.

Motivated by the desire to prevent lifelong dental problems through early intervention, Dr. Fung returned to the University of Sydney to complete her Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry in Paediatric Dentistry. She then held prestigious roles as a Staff Specialist at Westmead Centre for Oral Health and a Visiting Staff Specialist for the Hunter New England Oral Health Service. Additionally, she contributed her expertise to Queensland Children’s Hospital as a Staff Specialist before transitioning into private practice at Tooth Town.

Dr. Fung’s extensive experience in paediatric dentistry encompasses all areas of treatment, with a particular focus on tongue-tie management and related functional disorders. Her dedication to providing compassionate, comprehensive care has taken her beyond Australia, including volunteer work delivering essential dental services to children in Vietnam and indigenous communities in the Northern Territory.

At Tooth Town, Dr. Fung remains committed to creating positive dental experiences for children, ensuring that each visit supports both their immediate dental health and their long-term well-being.
