Dr Chris Jardim

BSc. MBBS FRACS (Plast.)

Dr Jardim holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Sydney and Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery from University of Queensland. He is a Fellow and member of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) as well as the Australian Society of Plastic Surgery (ASPS) and Australian Hand Surgery Society.

Dr Jardim brings a wide range of surgical skills to his practice at Valley Plastic Surgery but is particularly interested in reconstructive and peripheral nerve microsurgery, hand and wrist trauma, skin cancer and head and neck reconstruction.

He was initially drawn to pursuing a career as a surgeon after seeing the “The Guinea Pig Club,” a documentary about Dr. Archibald McIndoe, a New Zealand plastic surgeon who, during WWII, worked for the Royal Air Force (RAF) and completely reshaped the lives of hundreds of men and the very course of plastic surgery through his pioneering plastic surgery techniques.

Dr Jardim honed his skills with an orthopaedic fellowship with the Brisbane Hand and Upper Limb team at the Princess Alexandra Hospital and he remains as a staff specialist in the Hand Unit and Plastic and Reconstructive Unit at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.

His keen aesthetic judgment and diverse technical skills ensure that the choice of procedures and their performance are optimised for each patient. His surgical philosophy is simple: to combine form and function in tandem with an excellent patient relationship to create the optimum outcome.

Outside of his busy practice, Christopher and his wife – who is also a surgeon – enjoys spending as much time as possible with his young family.
